Whiteley’s portraits start at $600 for a simple 35cm x 45cm-sized canvas.

That’s face, shoulders with a plain background. If you want more features like detailed clothes or specific settings extra fees will apply.

Many people want a marginally larger one with more details and they start at $900.

Portraits of couples start at $1200 and more for families.

A massive 1.6 metres by 1.2 meters full body portraits start at $3000.

Whiteley also paints pets and they start at $600.

How it works

If you want your own original Whiteley portrait get in touch with Patrick and have a chat. If you live in Sydney, you’ll meet up and he will take some pictures to work from.

If you have a favourite picture, he can work off that too. But he really needs to meet the subject and take his own pictures. He also needs to discover the subject’s personality with a face-to-face sit down. . If you live elsewhere, a Facebook chat will work, too.

A 20% non-refundable deposit is required, and then work begins. It takes about a month to finish depending on his backlog of portraits.

Along the way he will email you on the progress when you can make suggestions and adjustments.
